The objective of this design was to integrate the sharp lines of the tetrahedron form to the organic shape of the human finger while still retaining the essence of this geometric shape. This was achieved by creating a complex non-linear geometry that remains simple in appearance. This sharpness was extrapolated by making most complimentary elements of the ring triangular in section, including the green tourmaline at its centre. The result is a visually striking yet ergonomic ring.
Sonja‘s eyewear design was inspired by blossoming flowers and early spectacle frames. Combining the organic forms of nature and the functional elements of spectacle frames the designer developed a convertible item that can be easily manipulated giving several different looks. The product was also designed with a practical folding possibility, taking as little space as possible in the carriers bag. The lenses are produced of laser-cut plexiglass with Orchid flower prints, and the frames are made manually using 18k gold plated brass.
The main concept in designing this collection is the superiority of spiritual values over material desires which surrounded us. Jewelry as a small symbol of external superficial beauties shows our tendency to this material world... But the light is a metaphor of real human values which have been forgotten. In this collection jewels have been burnt by the power of inside light.
The main innovation of Triple-O is movement, time readings, crown mechanism and modeling design, which fully convey the core of watch design. The application of planetary gear system in the time reading system makes the separation of hour and minute, marking recognition and time reading much easier, and the crown mechanism based on ball pen alike structure achieves the convenience of operation. Meanwhile, the whole Lelord triangle inspired modeling design provides the given angle to help users read time easier.
I tried to re-examine the value of the precious through the electronic materials that were available almost everywhere around us but were unnoticed or given little attention. A creation of an electronic component demands experiments and calculations with a long and complicated process. Therefore, I try to express those efforts on electronic components as a wearable piece on our body in the form of a jewel.
The Star rings emphasize individuality. Julien Riad Sahyoun strongly believes that everyone can make a difference by embracing their uniqueness and believing in themselves, and he wanted to share this value through his creations. In this collection there are no two rings alike - made by hand they all have different shapes, different colours of gold and diamonds. Each ring is set with a specific number of diamonds that has a symbolic meaning to Julien, for example the Dream Me and Love Me rings are set with 32 and 84 diamonds respectively which corresponds to his birth date.
