Dhvaja
Dhvaja is a necklace that can be opened to store small keepsakes. The form is inspired by the dhvaja, one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism, which stands for victory and the power to overcome evil. The necklace is made of 18k gold and finished with mirror polishing and beaded edge craftsmanship. Two main parts form the piece: a decorative dhvaja and a sealed container. The dhvaja is gently rotated to detach it from the chain, so items such as a lock of hair, scriptures or letters can be placed inside. The waterproof design allows long-term wear.
Dhvaja Necklace by Bowie Wong has been highlighted as an exceptional illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Dhvaja Necklace received the Iron A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2024. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which celebrates superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
