Lyra
Lyra is a pair of hearing aid glasses that joins hearing support with everyday eyewear. A six microphone array captures sound from a selected direction and reduces background noise. A rotatable speaker sits close to the ear canal and provides up to 40 decibels of gain for clearer speech. Adaptive noise reduction and feedback control help in complex sound environments. Lenses can be made for myopia, presbyopia or progressive correction. The intent is to give hearing support a non medical appearance suited to daily use.
Lyra Hearing Aid Glasses by Zhaolin Wu has been identified as an exceptional illustration of strategy design by the A' Design Award.
